AthleticLIVE – Real-Time Results & Beyond

🔹 What Is AthleticLIVE?

AthleticLIVE is the platform that makes your meet public. It takes all your hard work — races, field events, and timing — and presents it beautifully and instantly to fans, coaches, athletes, and officials.

Think of it as your live results central nervous system.

RunMeet is your control center — what’s happening.

AthleticLIVE is the presentation layer — how it’s seen.

AthleticLIVE uses a desktop application called AthleticLIVE Local to bridge the gap between your timing software and the live results site. It pulls data directly from programs like FinishLynx AthleticFIELD and Hytek, then syncs that information to the web in real-time.

• Live Results Website: Automatic posting from FinishLynx + AthleticFIELD app
• Image Export: Automatically post images from FinishLynx of each race and athlete
• Scoreboards: Integration with AthleticSB for Web Scoreboards and Physical Display Boards
• AthleticFIELD App: Connects directly to ALIVE/RUNMEET for field event syncing, less manual entry if you set it up properly and have the volunteers (tabets)
• Announcers: Gives announcers live, filtered result views (tablet)
• Live Records: Triggers and highlights based on performance
• AthleticAWARDS: Awards App that helps simplify giving out awards that follow along with the current results from the Live Page (tablet)
• Split Point Tracking: In-race updates for distance and XC events
• Race Video Integration: Syncs with Race Video uploads (tablet)

🎯 What You’re Responsible For

• Create AthleticLIVE meet page (via RunMeet menu or from scratch on admin.athletic.live)
• Launching AthleticLIVE Local before the meet
• Confirming it’s connected to the right meet (Meet ID check)
• Testing connection for Live Results from FinishLynx
• Using the admin.athletic.live page to control the presentation of the meet page.
• Meet information and Course maps, and other forms of media through static links or file uploads.
• Keeping it running in the background all day
• Using your meet's ALIVE Page to review events/results throughout the day
• Monitoring often for syncing issues (results not appearing, etc.)
• Setting split points (if applicable) using LIF Machine names and assigning splits names properly
• Setting up your tablets for Awards, Announcer, Field Events, and Clerk (if needed)

🛠️ Best Practices

• Keep your Internet connection stable — or results won’t post
• Make sure the meet schedule is 100% accurate and matches your host's information
• Always confirm you're using the correct meet folder, where RunMeet, FinishLynx, and AthleticLIVE files collect
• If Live results isn’t showing online — check AthleticLIVE Local connection first
• Review the public ALIVE page often to make sure results are flowing
• If you're running scoreboards, RunMeet + ALIVE + FinishLynx must stay in sync

📱 AthleticFIELD – Live Field Event Entry

AthleticFIELD is a mobile/tablet app used to record and submit field event results in real time. It connects directly to AthleticLIVE, so as marks are entered, they instantly appear online for spectators, coaches, and announcers.

Timers are responsible for:

• Create Field events and their configurations from the admin.athletic.live page (Guide)
  • Metric/English, how many attempts, how many finalists?
  • Sync to app after all events have been configured, this will activate the codes
• Use the codes from the admin.athletic.live field event page to load events onto the tablets before the event
• Train field crew and volunteers to: understand how to check in athletes, enter marks and progress attempts and all the way to generate finals
  • Load a round using QR Code
  • Add progression (Vertical)
  • Check in athletes for flight
  • Swiping to check out/retire
  • Select an attempt/athlete
  • Recording video
  • Entering marks
  • Deleting a mark
  • Using the standings and review button before generating finals
  • Generate Finals
• Monitoring ALIVE pages for sync issues, changes, or delayed updates
