New Zealand AthleticNET Ranking Lists

The AthleticNET New Zealand ranking lists can be updated automatically once results are loaded and approved.

RECORDING RESULTS

There are many ways to record results so they appear on the AthleticNET ranking lists. These are:

  1. Using AthleticNET's Run Meet.
  2. Using an alternative meet management system like Meet Manager and using AthleticLIVE at the same time. When using an approved meet management software with AthleticLIVE, AthleticLIVE auto creates a meet in AthleticNET.
  3. Uploading results using the Hy Tek Semi Colon Delimited file format from Meet Manager and Meet Pro for Track and Cross Country. Once results are uplaoded and approved by AthleticNET, they will appear on the ranking lists.
  4. Uploading Results from alternative sources.

Depending on which method is used, once the results has been uploaded, allocated to an athlete and approved by AthleticNET, the ranking lists will be automatically updated.

DIVISIONS (Age Groups)

The divisions used should mirror the World Athletics age grades (Senior, Under 20, Under 18, Masters (split in 5 year age groups).  Other divisions can be created for younger athletes, such as Under 16.  This ensures results are listed correctly against an athlete’s name.

This is especially important for events where implement weights or hurdle / steeplechase heights vary depending on an athlete’s division (age).

EVENT CATEGORIES

We want to make sure we standardise how we want the results to display. We want to use the following basic rules:-

  1. All Para Results should be recorded as Unified. They have their own section for ranking purposes.
  2. If using multiple divisions (based on an athlete’s age), allocate the correct implement or hurdle / steeplechase height for each division.
  3. When using only ONE Division for throwing, hurdle or steeplechase events, allocate the heaviest weight or highest height to all athletes. While this is not ideal, it means the results can be listed on the ranking lists.
    1. For this scenario, creating more divisions in the meet setup entry phase will allow results to be recorded correctly OR
    2. If using Meet Manager divisions, results may well be able to be imported, so you can allocate the correct implement weight or hurdle / steeplechase height for each division.
