AthleticRUNMEET XC - Running Combined Races

AthleticRUNMEET XC has the ability to 'Filter Results by Entry'. This allows you to run combined division races, such as JV and Varsity together, or Boys and Girls. When this is toggled on the results will be created only for athletes who have an entry in the selected event and division. If you are running the different gender together, AthleticRUNMEET will automatically filter out opposite genders.

Steps for timing combined divisions races: (Varsity and JV)
  1. Enable all entries and results in your FAT system.
  2. Toggle which event's should be filtered by entry.
  3. Duplicate the original LIF as many times as necessary and upload the new LIFs through AthleticLOCAL. (Check Manual method for LIF duplication information)
  4. Import on RunMeet Page. (Camera Icon)
Steps for timing combined Genders/Team Groups/Place races:
Examples:
Team Groups: Would be if you have a Big Schools, Small Schools type of separation.
Place: Top X finishers of a team automatically marked as Varsity, and rest of the finishers filtered to JV.

  1. Utilize AthleticLOCAL's LIF Divider Utility
  2. Upload newly created LIFs with AthleticLOCAL to RunMeet via Manual Uploader
  3. Import on RunMeet Page. (Camera Icon)

Divide LIF by Gender

Use Split LIF by Gender when male and female athletes were timed together but need separate events.

The original LIF must contain M or F in the FinishLynx User 1 field. (Can be set in FL Results options, see image below)

Many popular softwares like RunMeet, HyTek, and MeetPro already include gender as User 1

  1. Select the LIF file.
  2. Enter the Female Event Number and Male Event Number.
  3. Click Divide LIF.
  4. Upload the new LIFs manually through the AthleticLOCAL program.

AthleticLOCAL creates separate male and female LIF files with updated event numbers and athlete places.

Optional: Manual Method (Simple text file edit)

  1. Duplicate your original LIF. (Copy paste into the same folder)
  2. Change the first line of code, by adjusting the EVENT NUMBER.
    1. Example, if it shows 1,1,1 … and you know that the event you combined was event 2, change the sequence to 2,1,1. Then proceed to save the duplicated file.
  3. AthleticLOCAL should register the new LIF and upload to RunMeet Automatically.
  4. Import on RunMeet Page. (Camera Icon)
Tip: If you need to find the event number, go to your AthleticNET meet page -> Settings -> Divisions
