Seeding & Conversion for College Meets

AthleticNET is excited to bring you three new seeding features in conjunction with the opening of the 2024-25 indoor season. You can find all three of the new seeding features under "Manage Meet" or "Settings" -> "Seeds"-> "Advanced Seeding Settings".

You must be a Team Site Supporter to use these seeding features. If you are a college, you have already been given a site supporter subscription as apart of AthleticNET's partnership with USTFCCCA. For more information, see the Site Supporter Features category.

Getting Started with Seeding:

AthleticNET has added date range filters to help you choose where seeds are drawn from. You now have five options to choose how to seed a meet. To access these options click the dropdown next to "Source":

  1. Personal Records: an athlete's best mark throughout their careers
  2. Season Best: an athlete's best mark for the selected season
  3. Meet Between Dates: an athlete's best mark for both indoor and outdoor meets in a certain timeframe
  4. Indoor Meets Between Dates: an athlete's best mark for ONLY indoor meets in a certain timeframe
  5. Outdoor Meets Between Dates: an athlete's best mark for ONLY outdoor meets in a certain timeframe

Using Conversions in ANet:

AthleticNet has a new feature that allows you to implement three different conversions into your meet. These conversions are: Convert marks for altitude, convert marks to track type, and convert like events.

Under the seeds tab you will see an "Advanced Seeding Settings" button, this is where you can access the conversions features.

Convert Altitudes Marks:

If you want seed marks converted from altitude to sea level, then you will click the box highlighted below on your meet:

Each altitude conversion is verified by AthleticNET staff and tied to a specific venue. This verification is shown through a green check mark next to the venue name. If we are missing a venue, please email college@athletic.net.

Convert to Track Type:

There are four options when converting to track type:

  1. No Conversion: the seed mark is the mark, there is no conversion for track type
  2. Banked: converts oversized and/or flat track marks to a banked track
  3. Oversized track: converts seed marks to an oversized track mark.
  4. Flat Track: converts seed marks to a flat track mark. This means the seed marks will be slower after you select this option.
All of our conversions are based on NCAA standards.
Convert Like Events:

Using USTFCCCA Conversion Factors you can convert like-events such as 55meters to 60meters and the 1500m to one mile. These conversions are a-la-cart because you won't need all of them for every meet. Drop down the conversions and select the ones you want. You can select as many as you need!

If you do not see a conversion you'd like, please email us at college@athletic.net with the math and we will verify and add it!
