Record Field Videos
NOTE: Field videos work best when you have a strong internet connection.
Enable Field Video Recording
- Download or update the AthleticFIELD app. Must be on version 1.3.5 or higher.
- Open AthleticFIELD.
- Click "Settings".
- Scroll to the bottom. Click "Record Field Videos".
- Click the back arrow at the top left of the page.
Record Videos for Horizontal Events
- Load an event.
- After you check your athletes in, click the Officiate tab and click on an entry.
- At the bottom of the page, you will see a "Record" button. Click it and record your video. Enter your mark and click Save. The video will be uploaded to AthleticLIVE in the background.
- Videos will be seen on final results after you upload from your meet management system.
Record Videos for Vertical Events
- Load an event.
- After you check your athletes in, click the Officiate tab and click on an entry.
- At the bottom of the page, you will see a "Record #1" button. When you click on an entry, the Record button will default to the current jump, whether it's 1, 2, or 3 at this height. If you change heights, it will default to the current jump.
- For example: Eric made his first attempt at 5-00 and missed his first attempt at 5-02. When you go back into Eric's entry, the record button will say "Record #2" because he is on his second jump.
- Click "Save". The video will be uploaded to AthleticLIVE in the background.
- Videos will be seen on final results after you upload from your meet management system.
Removing Videos
- From the Officiate tab, click on an entry.
- If a video has been uploaded, click "Remove". Confirm removal.
- The video will be removed from AthleticLIVE.
Debugging and Fixing Uploads
NEW in version 1.3.7
Due to a bad internet connection or some other reason, all of your videos may not get uploaded during the event.
Once you get a better internet connection, follow these steps to get to the Videos page where you can upload remaining videos.
- From the Home screen, click on any flight.
- Click on the three-bar menu icon in the top left.
- Click on "Videos".
This will show you a list of all videos and current statuses. If you had a bad internet connection, many of these videos may be highlighted in Red and say "Errored" or "Stopped". If most say "Errored", read "How to re-upload all videos". If most say Stopped, read "Restart the Uploader" below.
How to re-upload all videos
- In the top right corner, click the three-dot button.
- Click "Upload All Videos".
- This should queue all non-uploaded videos in this event and begin uploading them one at a time. All non-uploaded videos should now say "In Progress", and video upload statuses should appear on the top of the page. As they are uploaded, videos will turn green and say "Success".
- If this doesn't start uploading videos, check out the next option: "Restarting the uploader"
Restart the Uploader
Sometimes, especially with a bad internet connection, the uploader can get stuck and stop uploading videos.
- In the top right corner, click the three-dot button.
- Click "Restart Uploader".
- All non-uploaded videos should now say "Not Started"
- In the top right corner, click the three-dot button.
- Click "Upload All Videos".
- Videos should start uploading.
