Adding an Athlete to Your Profile

Adding an athlete to your profile is the first step to making the very most of Athletic.net. It allows you to register as an unattached athlete, track your own performance history, workout logs, and more!

If you're a USATF athlete, see Adding a USATF Athlete to Your Profile below.

Adding a non-USATF Athlete to Your Profile

If you have existing performance history on Athletic.net, it's highly recommended that you claim your athlete bio, rather than creating a new athlete. Claiming your bio means that all your performance history gets associated with your account, and if you register for a meet, all your performance history will be taken into account for seeding purposes. For more information, see Claim Your Athlete Bio. If you find that you have multiple athlete bios (this often happens when an athlete competes for multiple teams), claim the most complete one, and then request that the others be merged into it. See Merging Duplicate Athletes for more information.

If you're looking to create a new athlete from scratch to track workouts, register as unattached for meets, or take advantage of the other tools Athletic.net has to offer, first go to your dashboard. To access your personal dashboard, click on your name in the top right corner of the screen, and then click  Dashboard. Under the heading Create an Athlete, click Add an Athlete.

This will open the Add Athlete screen. If you're not adding a USATF athlete, click Not USATF, and then enter the athlete's first name, last name, birthdate, and select a gender. When you're done, click Add.

Your new athlete will be displayed on your dashboard, ready for you to register for meets as an unattached runner! To register for meets as an individual, see Registering for an Event as an Individual.

Adding a USATF Athlete to Your Profile

Adding a USATF athlete to your profile is easy! Just like above, you'll first need to access your dashboard. To access your personal dashboard, click on your name in the top right corner of the screen, and then click  Dashboard. Under the heading Create an Athlete, click Add an Athlete.

This will open the Add Athlete screen. Since you're a USATF athlete, click USATF at the top of the screen, then enter your ID number, then click Add. Your data will appear automatically.

USATF youth athletes often have multiple bios, especially if they are competing for both a school team and a club team. If you enter your USATF ID, and find that some of your performance history is missing, you should find all your bios and request that they be merged. See Merging Duplicate Athletes for further details.
